GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Seton Hill University women's soccer team dropped a heartbreaking 1-0 decision to Shippensburg University at Dick's Sporting Good's field on Wedensday, October 7th in PSAC play.
The loss drops the Griffins to 5-6-1 on the year and 4-6-1 in the PSAC. With the win, Shippensburg improves to 5-6-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the PSAC.
After a scoreless first half, Casey Rightmyer got the Raiders on the board by scoring in the 60th minute off of a Haley Jones assist. That goal proved to be the difference as repeated attempts by the Seton Hill offensive attack were thwarted by the Raider defense.
Shippensburg led in shots 11-8 (7-2 on-goal) while each team has three corner kicks apiece.
Emily LoPresti (Petrolia, PA) had both shots on-goal for the Griffins with
Emma Porteous (Midlothian, Scotland),
Hanna Marks (Harrison City, PA), and
Alex McIntosh (Whitby, Ontario) each recording shots in the game.
In goal,
Carolin Edenhofner (Munich, Germany) played all 90:00 and ended with six saves.
Seton Hill returns to the pitch on Wednesday, October 14th when they step out of conference play to welcome West Liberty University. Kickoff is set for 3:00 PM at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.
