Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

SHU Falls at Mercyhurst 3-0

The Griffins continued their weekend in Erie with a matchup with Mercyhurst on Saturday afternoon.  The weekend was not a good one for the Griffins as they dropped their second straight contest following a three set loss to the Lakers.  SHU drops to 13-5 overall and 4-2 in PSAC action.

Seton Hill took an early 12-6 lead after a 4-0 run on kills from Maggie Murray, Cassie Hausfeld and Shelby Kyllo.  Mercyhurst then went on a 10-1 run to take a 16-13 lead.  SHU tied the set at 18 before the Lakers took the first set 25-22.  Mercyhurst took an 11-4 advantage in the second set.  The Lakers continued to build their lead and took a 2-0 lead with a 25-12 victory in the second set.  The third set was tight with neither team holding more than a one point lead until the Lakers took an 11-8 lead.  After a block by Hausfeld and Jenna Sassack SHU trailed by just a 17-16 score.  The Lakers were able to pull away and take a 25-22 third set win and take the match by a 3-0 score.

Shelby Kyllo led the Griffins with 8 kills.  Cassie Hausfeld and Emily Gilles each had 4 kills.  Hausfeld had 4 blocks and Jenna Sassack and Gilles each had 3. Lauren Teed led SHU with 17 digs.
