Seton Hill hit the road for a short trip to Indiana, PA on Wednesday afternoon for a PSAC matchup. IUP scored in the first half and SHU answered in the second half to send the game into overtime. IUP scored 7:56 into the overtime period for a 2-1 victory over the Griffins. SHU drops to 6-8-1 overall and 4-8-1 in PSAC play.
The first half did not feature much offense as both teams combined for just 5 shots and only one goal. IUP was able to finally find the back of the net with just 1:39 left in the first half. The Crimson Hawks scored off a corner kick when Jenny Vietmeier scored when her shot deflected into the goal off of another player.
Seton Hill was able to tie the score on their first shot of the second half.
Emma Porteous scored off a cross from
Breanna Novosel. The Griffins tied the score 10:10 into the second half. The Griffins nearly took the lead five minutes later but
Emily LoPresti's shot was stopped by the IUP keeper. SHU had back to back corner kicks late in the second half but could not find the back of the net for the game winning goal. SHU had two shots in the overtime period with
Alex McIntosh's shot going wide and LoPresti's shot being stopped by the keeper. IUP was able to score the game winner 7:52 into the first overtime period.
Carolin Edenhofner recorded 4 saves in net in the loss.
Seton Hill will travel to Millersville on Saturday afternoon for a 3 PM start.
