Seton Hill headed east for a set of PSAC Crossover matchups at Lock Haven University on Friday. SHU dropped a tough five set match in the early afternoon against home standing Lock Haven and responded with a four set win over Shippensburg in the late afternoon. SHU improves to 17-6 overalll and 8-3 in PSAC action.
The Griffins opened the Lock Haven match with a 25-23 victory in the first set. The Bald Eagles took a 2-1 lead with 25-20 victories in the second and third set. SHU evened up the match with a 25-22 win in the fourth set. LHU won the match with an 18-16 victory in the fifth set.
SHU opened the Shippensburg match with a 25-19 first set win. Ship took the second set by a score of 25-22 to even the match up at one. The Griffins took the third set by a 25-22 score to take a 2-1 advantage. Seton Hill wrapped up the match with a 26-24 win in the fourth set.
Cassie Hausfeld and
Shelby Kyllo led the Griffins with 9 kills each in the Lock Haven match.
Katie Wenson followed with 7 kills while
Rachel Satira and
Emily Gilles finished with 6 kills.
Maggie Murray and
Brynn Fleury split the assists with Murray having 23 and Fleury 21. Satira led with 6 blocks while Kyllo added 5.
Lauren Teed had a match high 29 digs.
Hausfeld led the Griffins with 14 kills in the win over Shippensburg. Satira added 11 kills. Fleury led the Griffins with 19 assists while Murray added 14. Sassack had a team high 7 blocks. Teed finished with 21 digs. Hausfeld added 15.
Seton Hill will continue PSAC Crossover action at Pitt Johnstown on Saturday. SHU will take on UPJ in the first match of the day and Millersville in the third match at UPJ.
