GREENSBURG, Pa. -
Cassie Hausfeld (Dublin, OH) had a match-high 18 kills to go along with 12 digs as Seton Hill University defeated Clarion University in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference volleyball action Saturday afternoon inside the McKenna Center in Greensburg, Pa.
With the win, the Griffins improve to 16-5 overall and 7-2 in the PSAC. Clarion falls to 10-10 overall and 6-3 in the PSAC.
Seton Hill won the first two games 25-14 and 25-20. Clarion fought back to take the third game, 25-19. In the fourth, the Griffins jumped out to an 11-4 lead only to see Clarion fight back to make it 12-8. However, SHU went on a 6-1 run en route to a 25-16 win in the fourth game.
Hausfeld led SHU with 18 kills.
Shelby Kyllo (Anacortes, WA) finished with eight and
Maggie Murray (Erie, PA) came away with seven to round out the offensive effort. Marissa Robertson had 17 kills, Taylor Braunagel had 14, and Gabrielle Olson finished with five kills for Clarion.
Defensively, Hausfeld and
Lauren Teed (Milan, OH) led the Griffins with 12 digs apiece. Clarion's Morgan Seybold was the only Golden Eagle finishing with double-digit digs with 19.
Maggie Murray finished with a match-high 33 assists for SHU, while Kaley Pittsley dished out 32 assists in the effort for Clarion.
Seton Hill will hit the road for the final edition of the PSAC East-West Crossover October 16th and 17th with two matches on Friday and two more on Saturday. Click here for the full
