Box Score 2 The Griffin volleyball team traveled to Elkins, WV to take part in the Davis & Elkins Tournament this weekend. Seton Hill opened the tournament with two victories on Friday. The Griffins defeated Glenville State 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-19) in the morning and then defeated Concord 3-0 (25-19, 25-8, 25-23) in their second match of the day. SHU improves to 5-0 on the season.
Shelby Kyllo continued her hot start to the season and led the Griffins with 10 kills, hitting .643 in the victory over Glenville State. Kyllo also added 2 blocks.
Corrine Gahagen finished with 6 kills while
Cassie Hausfeld and
Abigail Malsch each added 4 kills.
Courtney Field led the team with 33 assists and
Lauren Teed led the Griffins with 9 digs.
Kyllo again led the Griffins with 12 kills in the victory over Concord. She also added 4 aces and 4 blocks. Hausfeld added 4 kills. Gahagen and Caylene McKinneyeach put down 3 kills. Field led with 16 assists while
Maggie Murray added 12. Teed again led with 9 kills.
The Griffins will close out the Davis & Elkins Tournament with two matches on Saturday. SHU will take on UVA-Wise and Urbana.
