Fagan Leads Griffin Offense in 14-8 Win

Greensburg, PA- Midfielder Emily Fagan nets five to lead the Seton Hill Women's Lacrosse team to victory over Edinboro University 14-8 on Wednesday afternoon. The Griffins improve to 9-4 and 4-4 in PSAC while Edinboro slips to 6-5 and 2-5 in PSAC play.
 
Seton Hill jumped out to a three-goal lead within the first five minutes of play and held the lead for the rest of the contest. 
 
Emily Fagan scored four times in the first half including an assist to Morgan Cain who scored on a quick release shot from the crease for a 'crossbar and in' goal. At that point the Griffins lead 8-4 with only 36 seconds remaining on the clock.
 
After a draw control by Emma Simmers with 29 seconds left, Christine Palmeri nets a goal on a one-on-one dodge from the right wing with 9 seconds left in the first half. Edinboro trailed at halftime by five, 9-4.
 
Starting the second half, the Griffins find themselves an extra-man up early and Emma Simmers took advantage of the opportunity for her second goal of the game.
 
Back and forth scoring ensued and the Griffin offense was able to kill time off the clock not allowing Edinboro to gain any momentum to climb back. Griffins defeat the Fighting Scotts and at end of regulation score read 14-8.
 
Attackman Renee Kania worked the back of the cage and dished out 6 assists to her teammates.
 
Known of her defensive skill set, Alessandra Nicholas chimes in on the scoring and adds two of her own.

The Griffins will return home when they host West Chester University on Saturday, April 12. Faceoff is set for 3 p.m.
