Dylan Gelven scored the first goal to take the lead 1-0. Followed by a Walsh goal,
Matt Delmonico scored the second for a 2-1 lead. Walsh answers again. Zach Rush scores for a 3-2 lead and at the first quarter buzzer
Dylan Lefebvre puts one in assisted by
Marc Piche to give the Griffins the lead 4-2 at the end of one.
Stating the second quarter the Griffins and Cavaliers split four goals for a score of 6-4. The Griffin defense held Walsh scoreless for the last five minutes of the half as the Griffins pour in five straight goals.
The Cavaliers start the scoring starting the second half, score 11-5. Again, SHU goes on an offensive run this time scoring seven straight, score 18-5 Griffins.
Starting off the quarter strong, the Cavaliers score three, two of which on man-up opportunities. Followed by a Griffins goal by Rusch assisted by
Drew Bossert. To end the last four minutes of regulation the Cavaliers hold the Griffins scoreless adding two of their own for a final score of 19-10.
The man-down defensive units for the Griffins stopped the Cavalier offense 11-13 times. These are very good numbers for the Griffins who on averaging 42% stops on man-down this season.
