Seton Hill Takes Out Lindenwood

Greensburg, PA- The Seton Hill men's lacrosse team takes down the Lindenwood Lions 13-8 on Saturday afternoon at Dick's Sporting Goods Field. Despite a 3-goal deficit in the first quarter the Griffins rallied as a team to earn their fifth ECAC win while celebrating their senior day. Seton Hill advances to a 9-4 overall record and 5-2 in ECAC. Lindenwood slips to 3-7 overall, and 2-4 in ECAC play.
 
The Griffins found themselves down by three within the first five minutes of the game.  At 4:56 Jimmy Cogley finds the back of the cage with help on an assist from Marc Piche who found Cogley from behind the cage. On a man-up opportunity Zach Hartman zips a pass to Dylan Lefebvre who finishes the opportunity. Ending the quarter Lindenwood scores on their own man-up.
 
Entering the second quarter down 4-2, the Griffins regain their momentum, out scoring the Lions 5-1 in the second. Five different scores all capitalize their chances to put the Griffins into the drivers seat headed into half time.  The sixth Griffin goal and to take the lead was scored by Corbin Takahara who scored unassisted by slicing through a double team and ended the play by defining the perfect bounce shot to the top right corner of the net. Griffins lead at half 7-5
 
Lindenwood's leading scorer coming into today's game, Brandon Stuebing lead off the scoring putting the Lions with in one, but the Griffins would answer by going on a three-goal run.
 
Brandon Stuebing and McNein Hewitt would add two for Lions making the score 10-8 with 2:18 left in the third quarter. Then next Griffin possession Jimmy Cogley scored his second of the game to make the score 11-8 at the end of the third quarter.
 
The Griffin defense held the Lions scoreless in the fourth. Two goals for the Griffins by Jack Miller and Matt Delmonico would conclude the game scoring and add to the Griffins' lead.
 
Senior defenseman David Spadacene lead all defense in statistical categories adding 5 groundballs and 2 caused turnovers.
 
Starting goalkeeper Brady Lawrence recorded 8 saves facing 28 shots.

Anthony Peluso went 15-24 on face-offs. He faced 5 different Lions at the "X" as he finished the day winning over 60%.

With today's win the #15 Seton Hill Griffins clinched a spot in the ECAC tournament.
