Griffins drop to 3-2 ECAC With Loss to Wheeling Jesuit

Greensburg, PA- Great weather for a lacrosse game at Dick's Sporting Goods Field as Seton Hill gets out played by Wheeling Jesuit and takes their second loss in ECAC play 18-12. Seton Hill slips to 7-4 and 3-2 in conference. Wheeling Jesuit improves to 9-1 overall and 4-0 in ECAC.
 
Wheeling jumped out to a 5-1 start to finish the first quarter and going 6-7 on the draws helped the Cardinals keep possession throughout the quarter while keeping the Griffin offence quiet for 14:32. 0:28 left in the first Jack Miller scored the first Griffin goal.
 
Wheeling and their extra-man up offense started off the second quarter with the ball, and Brian Frank capitalizes to take a 6-1 lead. The wheeling extra-man unit went 6-10 on the day, enjoying plenty of opportunities.
 
At 14:20 in the second quarter, Chris DeMichiel takes advantage of a Wheeling turnover off the ensuing face-off and dishes the ball to Matt Delmonico for a time and room goal to make the score 6-2.
 
Wheeling went on a three goal run to increase their lead to 9-2. At 8:30 Dylan Gelven scored unassisted to make the score 9-3.
 
Again on the man-up, Wheeling answers for one of their own to end the first half scoring and to take a comfortable 10-3 halftime lead.
 
Seton Hill goes for a little run in the third quarter.  Outscoring the Wheeling Cardinals 5-2 trailing 12-8 headed into the fourth.
 
Every time the Griffins tried to make a comeback run in the fourth, Wheeling answered. The final score 18-12 and Wheeling will stay undefeated in ECAC play.
 
Anthony Peluso went 0-6 on face-offs. Jack Miller went 10-20 on face-offs adding six groundballs and a goal.
 
Dylan Gelven remained hot with his shooting game, adding 4 goals.
 
Overall 10 turnovers from the starting Griffin attack unit, limiting Seton Hill's offensive time on offense .
 
Alex Hill relieved starting goalkeeper Brady Lawrence with 7 minutes to go in the first half adding 5 saves. Both keepers combined for 6 saves.
 
Leading scorer for Wheeling Jesuit Bryce Brochu scored 6 goals and 2 assists, his best offensive performance yet this season.
