The Griffin softball team hosted Indiana (PA) on Tuesday afternoon looking to end a two game losing streak.  Unfortunately for the Griffins, they saw their losing streak extended to four after being swept by the Cromson Hawks.  IUP won a pitchers dual in game one by the score of 2-0.  IUP then rallied from 3-0 down in game two and scored 9 unanswered for a 9-3 win.  SHU falls to 13-7 overall and 3-5 in PSAC West play.

Indiana (PA) hit solo homers off Griffin starter Christine Henderson in the first and fifth innings of game one to account for the only runs in the game.  SHU loaded the bases in the third but a groundout ended the threat.  The Griffins also left two runners on base in the fifth inning.  Four Griffins each had one single in game one.  Henderson went the distance, suffering the loss.  She gave up the two runs on three hits and struck out nine.

The Griffins jumped on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first of game two.  Dani Treaster led off with a single and moved to second when Lauren Sauerwein walked.  Christine Henderson then cleared the bases with a three run homer.  IUP responded with 8 runs in the nest three innings.  They scored a single run in the second, three in the third and four in the fourth.  They closed out the scoring with a run in the sixth.  The Griffins had two runners on in the seventh but had the game end with a runner getting thrown out at home plate.  Amanda Huff suffered the loss.  She went 3 1/3 and gave up 7 runs, 4 of which were earned.  Henderson was the lone Griffin with two hits. 

SHU will host Clarion on Friday.  First pitch in the doubleheader is set for 3 PM.
