SHU Griffins Defeat Molloy College Lions 10-7

Greensburg, PA- Brian Barnes scores his first 2 goals of the season to help lift the #8 Griffins past #10 Molloy College 10-7 on Saturday, March 29 at Dick's Sporting Goods Field. Seton Hill Improves to 5-2 overall with Saturday's win.
 
Midfielder Brian Barnes was on the board first in today's victory, scoring his first two goals of the season and the first 2 goals for Seton Hill. With the game tied at 2-2, the Griffins went on a 4 goal scoring run to close the 1st half. Halftime score: SHU 6, Molloy 2.
 
Scoring when back and forth in the 3rd quarter. Molloy scored three, two of which were Man Up goals. Jimmy Cogley and Marc Piche were the only Griffins to score in the quarter.
 
Headed into the last quarter with a 8-5 lead, Seton Hill Midfielder Jimmy Cogley stung one over goalie John Grebe (14 saves) to add his 2nd of the day at 6:59. 1 minute 37 seconds later, on the ensuing Griffins' possession Marc Piche dropped a bomb on an assist from Matt Delmonico to give Seton Hill a 10-5 advantage in the 4th quarter. Two late goals from Molloy's Kevin Teresky and Joe Leonard were not enough for the Lions. Final score Seton Hill 10, Molloy College 7.
 
The Griffin defense limited the top two scorers for Molloy College, Joe Leonard and Tom Engelhardt (the duo have a combined point total of 66 points in their first 8 games, 8.25 points/game). Engelhardt was shut out and Leonard had 2 goals and 1 assist. Junior Goalkeeper, Brady Lawrence added 11 saves.

The Griffin's scoring specialists went 2-3 on Extra-man-up opportunities. And midfielder Anthony Peluso won 72.7% of his draws (16-22) controlling the "X," allowing Seton Hill to gain more offensive possessions.

SHU is now 4-0 against Molloy College in the last 4 contests. The Griffins will return to action on the road tomorrow, March 30th at Alderson Broaddus University. Opening faceoff is set for 2:00pm.
