The women's lacrosse opened their two day road trip with a PSAC match against Shippensburg on Friday afternoon.
Morgan Cain scored 6 goals and
Renee Kania added 8 assists as the Griffins rolled to a 17-8 road win. SHU improves to 7-2 overall and 2-2 in PSAC action.
The Griffin offense started the game on fire, scoring the first five goals of the contest.
Emily Fagan opened the scoring less than a minute into the contest.
Renee Kania picked up her first assist on the goal.
Emma Simmers then scored from Kania before Kania found the back of the net to give SHU a 3-0 lead just four minutes into the match.
Morgan Cain scored on a free position shot and Simmers scored again from Kania to complete the 5-0 run. Ship responded with the next four goals of the game and trimmed the SHU lead to 5-4 with 6:40 to play in the first half. SHU scored the final three goals of the half to take an 8-4 lead into the halftime break. Cain scored two of the three final goals of the half.
Seton Hill's offense continued to dominate the contest during the start of the second half as the Griffins scored the first nine goals of the half to push their lead to 17-4 with 14:18 to play in the half. Cain scored three goals during the run. Simmers and
Christine Palmeri each scored twice during the scoring run.
Meghan Hollar made 15 saves in net to earn the victory.
