The Griffins Fall to Gannon 8-7

Gannon PA- Gannon University gets their first PSAC win on Saturday afternoon after beating Seton Hill 8-7. Seton Hill moves to an overall record of 5-2 and 0-2 in PSAC play.
 
Seton Hill went on 3 separate double-goal runs in the first half to give them the lead at half 5-4. In the first half, Emily Fagan had 2 goals and Emma Simmers had 1 goal and 2 assists and Renee Kania had 1 goal and 1 assist.
 
Gannon was able to tie the game at 5 two minutes into the second half. Seton Hill's Emily Fagan was able to answer as the Griffins re-gained the lead 6-5 at 25:08. Gannon tied the game and took their first lead with two goals of their own to make the score 7-6. Elizabeth Otwell scores her 8th goal of the season to tie the game again at 7-7 with 15:10 left in regulation.
 
With 0:19 left to play in the game Gannon's Stevie Lombardoni scores the game winning goal and her 4th goal of the afternoon.

Seton Hill had 2 shots in the last 19 seconds to try to send the game into overtime. The first shot went wide and the last attempt got blocked in front of the cage at the final horn. Gannon wins 8-7 over Seton Hill.

Gannon earns the win despite being outshot by the Griffins 23-13. The Griffins also won the ground ball war 42-29.
 
The Griffins will play their next game at home on Tuesday, March 25th against Slippery Rock University. Faceoff is set for 4:00 pm.
