The Griffin softball team opened play at the WV Wesleyan Tournament in Salem, VA with two victories on Friday.  Seton Hill defeated Chowan 3-0 in the first game then defeated Bowie State 7-0 in their second game.  The Griffins have improved to 7-2 on the season. 

Christine Henderson threw a complete game shutout in the victory over Chowan.  She gave up just two hits and struck out 11.  Henderson and Carlee Wickstrom each went 2-3 in the win.  Jacqui Palmer, Abbey Suhoski and Kristina Torretti each knocked in one run. 

Hope Pehrson also had a complete game shutout in the win over Bowie State.  She gave up just one hit and struck out 10.  Dani Treaster, Lauren Sauerwein, Christine Henderson, Carlee Wickstrom, Stefanie Wiegand and Abbey Suhoski each had multiple hits. 

The Griffins will play Davis & Elkins at 9 am and Franklin Pierce at 11 am on Saturday.
