Box Score Seton Hill made the long trip to Lock Haven for a PSAC Crossover matchup on Saturday afternoon. The contest also closed out the 2014 portion of the season for the Griffins as they will take a break for the Christmas holiday. SHU used a 19-2 run to cut the Lock Haven lead to seven in the second half but the Bald Eagles used a run of their own and pull away for a 61-46 victory. SHU falls to 5-6 overall and 2-4 in PSAC play.
The Griffins led for the first four minutes of the contest and held a 9-7 lead on baskets from
Kelly Brennan,
Cha Cha Williams,
Jharrin Gill and two free throws from
Chelsea Apke at the 16:09 mark of the first half. Over the next four minutes the Bald Eagles went on a 13-2 run to build a 20-11 lead. Lock Haven built their lead to 35-16 before Apke scored the final four points of the half to trail 35-20 at the half.
Lock Haven opened the second half by outscoring the Griffins 11-5 to open a 46-25 lead with 12:48 to play in the second half. Seton Hill then got hot from the field and went a 14-0 run to cut the lead to 46-39 with 6:58 to play in the contest.
Halie Torris and
Mariah Wells opened the run by hitting threes. Williams closed the run with two buckets. Lock Haven answered with a 9-0 run to put the game away in route to a 61-46 victory.
Chelsea Apke led the Griffins with a double double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. Apke also added 3 blocks and 2 assists.
Cha Cha Williams and
Jharrin Gill each added 8 points.
Seton Hill will return to action in 2015 when they travel to Bloomsburg on January 3rd for another PSAC Crossover matchup. Tip is set for 1 PM.
