Neither team connected anything at the plate in the first inning, however the second inning was a different story. In the second for the Crimson Hawks they scored 3 runs off of 3 hits and one Griffin error to take the 3-0 lead. In the Griffins second, Kaitlyn Kutchman was walked and scored on a home run hit by Beth Anne Swartzwelder to close the gap on IUP 3-2. In the fourth inning the Crimson Hawks managed to score 4 runs off of 5 hits extending their lead over the Griffins to 7-2.
