The Griffins softball team was swept in a doubleheader at WVIAC leader Fairmont State on Tuesday afternoon.  Fairmont won the first game 9-1 in 6 innings and took game two by an 8-0 score in 5 innings.  SHU falls to 12-18 overall and 11-11 in WVIAC play. 

The Griffins took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a solo homer from Brandi Piccolino.  Fairmont tied the score at 1 with a run in the third.  They added 5 runs in the fourth to increase the lead to 6-1.  FSU got one run in the fifth and closed out the game with two runs in the sixth.  Fairmont State jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning of game two.  They added 2 runs in the second and 1 run in the third to close out the Griffins by a score of 8-0.  Piccolino and Felicia Domasky had the two hits in game two.

Seton Hill will host Shepherd on Saturday afternoon in a key WVIAC doubleheader.
