On Friday afternoon the Griffins matched up against Belmont Abbey College at home. A strong third quarter from Seton Hill gave them enough of an advantage to hold off the Crusaders defeating them 12-8.
In first quarter action Seton Hill came out of the gates scoring 3 goals from
Dylan Gelven,
Jack Miller, and
Taylor Mansfield. Of the 3 goals one was unassisted while
Dylan Lefebvre earned assists on the other two giving Seton Hill a 3-0 lead with 5:09 mark. The Crusaders scored with 3:02 on the clock to end the first 3-1.The Crusaders started the second quarter with a goal at the 8:20 mark making it a 3-2 contest. The Griffins retaliated with 3 unanswered goals to increase their advantage 6-2 with 2:57 remaining. The Crusaders managed to put one past the keeper during the final seconds of play entering halftime with the Griffins leading 6-3.
Seton Hill came out energized in the third quarter not giving the Crusaders a chance. The Griffins went on a 5-0 run taking a commanding 11-3 lead heading into the last quarter. The Crusaders were not done fighting in the fourth as they scored the 2 goals quickly making it an 11-5 game with 12:11 on the clock. Seton Hill answered back with a goal of their own by
James Delaney assisted by
Dylan Gelven. The Crusaders then entered a 3-0 scoring run. However, there was not enough time to make up the deficit leading to a 12-8 Griffins win.
With the victory Seton Hill now improves to 6-1 overall.

Matt Delmonico all added 2 goals apiece.
Matt Delmonico added 4 assists and
Dylan Lefebvre added 3 assists.
Christopher Ilse recored 12 saves in goal. The Griffins will be on the road on Tuesday when they travel to Ohio Valley for a 7:00PM game.
