On Saturday afternoon the men's lacrosse team hosted Walsh University. The Griffins offense was too much for the Cavilers to handle as Seton Hill rolled to a 21-4 victory.
In the first period the Griffins started off strong scoring the first seven goals making it a 7-0 contest with 3:00 remaining in the quarter. The Cavilers finally got on the board a minute later. The Griffins answered back with a goal of their own from
Dylan Lefebvre assisted by
Matt Delmonico to end the first quarter up 8-1.
In the second period the Griffins managed to hold the Cavilers scoreless while they continued to put shot after shot in the back of the net. In the second Seton Hill scored 7 goals increasing their advantage 15-1 entering halftime.
During third quarter action Walsh came out fighting scoring the first two goals making it a 15-3 game with 7:29 on the clock.
Cody Golon then scored for the Griffins off a pass from
Anthony Peluso. Walsh retaliated with another goal trying to close the gap 16-4. With the final minute winding down
Corbin Takahara put one in the back of the net off a pass from
Erik Hultgren to extend the Seton Hill lead even further 17-4.
The fourth quarter was all Seton Hill as they were able to score another four goals before the final buzzer sounded. Defeating the Cavilers with a final score of 21-4.
Dylan Lefebvre who scored 3 goals and earned 2 assists led the Griffins offense. Tyler Mansfield and
Zach Hartmann also added 3 goals while
Matt Delmonico recorded 2 goals and 4 assists.
James Delaney and
Trevor Cyr added 2 goals apiece in the victory.
Christopher Ilse recorded 7 saves in net while
James Newman recorded 5 saves. With the win the Griffins advance to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play. Seton Hill will host Alderson-Broaddus next on March 20
th at 4:00PM
