Griffins Back on the Right Track With a 70-52 Road Victory

Box Score
The Seton Hill women's basketball team was on the road at Wheeling Jesuit on Monday night. The Griffins picked up their first road win in a week defeating the Cardinals 70-52.

In the opening minutes of the game the Cardinals stayed close behind the Griffins with a game score of 8-4 at the 16:53 mark. Over the next four minutes Seton Hill began to heat up offensively and pull away from Wheeling Jesuit. With 12:40 on the clock the Griffins had a 20-12 lead. A Cardinal three pointer trimmed the lead to 5 points. However, that would be the last bucket Wheeling Jesuit would score until the 6:55 mark. Over that period Seton Hill went on a 6-0 run extending their lead 26-15. Wheeling was unable to trim their deficit send the Griffins to the locker room with a 35-24 advantage.

In the second half the Griffins continued to maintain control of the game. Halfway through Seton Hill had a commanding 17-point lead, 58-41 at the 9:17 mark. The Cardinals could not close the gap on the Griffins leading to a 70-52 Seton Hill road victory.

Katie Gattuso led the Griffins offense recording a double double grabbing 11 rebounds and scoring 23 points. Paige Alviani added 20 points and Tiara Stossel chipped in 12 points. With the win Seton Hill now stands at 12-11 overall and 9-8 in conference play. The Griffins return home for their next contest where they host Shepherd University on Thursday night at 5:30PM.
