Van Gorp helped the Griffins to a 2-0 start on the season, scoring three goals. He scored the first two goals in the Griffins season opening 3-1 win over Wheeling Jesuit. Daniel then added a goal in the Griffins 2-0 shutout win at WV Wesleyan.
