Hadara Katarski has served as a head cross country and track and field coach at both the Division I and Divison III level. She is an adjunct professor in sport psychology and sociology of sport. In addition, she currently trains and counsels recreational and elite runners.
Prior to coming to Seton Hill, Hadara was the head men’s and women’s cross country at Niagara University. She also recruited for and started the school’s first women’s track and field team.
Prior to Niagara, Hadara started the cross country program from scratch at Chatham University, where she served as head coach and director of student-athlete wellness. The team had it’s highest finish in the PAC conference championships, finishing fifth, with a first team all-conference runner.
Hadara started her career at Dickinson college as an assistant men’s and women’s cross country and track coach. The teams claimed multiple conference championships, All-Americans and NCAA appearances.
Hadara competed collegiately at the University of Colorado, where she earned Big 12 academic team honors. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Mass Communication. She later earned a master’s degree from Chatham University in Sport Psychology. Hadara is still an avid runner in all distances from 5k through the marathon.
Originally from Claremont, California, Hadara now resides in Greensburg with her husband, Mark, head women’s basketball coach at SHU, and two young daughters.
