Megan Purcell is a member of the Seton Hill field hockey staff for her third season following a stellar career at Widener University. Megan graduated with a degree in Sports Management from Widener and is working towards her MBA at Seton Hill.
While on the field at Widener, Purcell was a four-year starter in goal where she earned first team All-Commonwealth Conference honors and named team MVP her senior season as well as second-team All-Commonwealth Conference and team MVP honors in 2008.Purcell put forth arguably her best season as goalkeeper in 2010 while competing in one of the nation’s toughest conferences. She was 46th in the country with 7.80 saves per game, tied for fourth with two shutouts and seventh with a 2.19 goals-against average. Purcell closed with a career-best 10 victories (10-5) her senior season.
Purcell finished her collegiate career with 461 saves, .764 % save average and a 2.56 goals-against average, playing just shy of 4000 minutes in the cage with 3,911 minutes over four years in 62 games.
