The 2022-23 season will be the first for Mark Katarski as the Head Women’s Golf Coach at Seton Hill University. He continues to serve as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Seton Hill, a role he has had since July of 2013.
A lifelong golfer, and head coach of four other sports at the intercollegiate level, this is Katarski’s first official role coaching golf.
From 2008-11, Katarski served as an adjunct instructor for the course ‘Introduction to Golf’ in the Physical Education Department at Chatham University, while also helping as an instructor with the Youth Golf Clinics at Glengarry Golf Links for numerous years.
Outside of the instruction, the Mt. Pleasant, PA native has also spent time around the golf industry, working at both Donegal Highlands Golf Course, and the now defunct Cherry Creek Golf Club during the summers while in school. In addition, he is a founder, and board member, of a local golf event held on Labor Day weekend each year since 2007 that has helped to raise over $6,000 for various charities.
A Head Women’s Basketball Coach at both Chatham University (2005-11) and Seton Hill University (2013-Present), Katarski is the career wins leader for both programs. In addition, he served as Head Women’s Volleyball Coach (2000), Head Men’s Tennis Coach (2001), and Head Softball Coach (2004) at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, recruiting and coaching the 2004 AMCC Newcomer of the Year in Softball.
Katarski holds an associate’s of arts degree from Westmoreland County Community College, a bachelor’s of science degree in education from California University of Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh. He and his wife Hadara, a former cross country and track and field athlete at the University of Colorado, are the parents of a daughter Jaela, born in May 2013, and Mara born in August 2015, and they reside in Hempfield Township.
