Maeve Gallagher

Maeve Gallagher begins her third season as head coach of the Griffins during the 2025-26 season. 

In her first two seasons on the hill, Gallagher has amassed a 38-22 overall record and a 27-15 mark in PSAC West play.  The Griffins have made two PSAC Tournaments and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in school history.

Last season, Gallagher guided the Griffins to 24 wins, the most since joining the NCAA.  Maeve was named the PSAC West Coach of the Year and had the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Year in addition to three All PSAC performers.  She coached a PSAC Winter Top 10 Award winner in addition to a CSC Academic All American.   

Gallagher spent  two seasons as an assistant coach on the Seton Hill staff.  

In her second season as assistant, the Griffins won 18 contests and again qualified for the PSAC Postseason.  In her first season, the Griffins won 21 contests, the most since the 2010-11 team won 22 contests.  SHU also had two All PSAC West performers and the PSAC West Rookie of the Year. 

Gallagher also spent two seasons at Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA.  During her two seasons at W&J, the Presidents finished with two winning season and advanced to the PAC Championship game in each season.  In two seasons, six players earned All Conference honors including the conference player of the year this past season.  

She spent the 2018-19 season at Division I Longwood University where she coached an All Big South league selection.  

Prior to Longwood, Maeve spent three seasons at W&J where the team compiled a 62-22 record and a 44-10 mark in PAC play.  The team earned three top three finishes, advanced to two ECAC Tournament Championships including a championship game appearance in 2016, along with two 20 plus win seasons.  

Gallagher was a three sport athlete at Point Park University where she participated in soccer, basketball and softball where she played for former SHU WBB assistant Tony Grenek.  Maeve was a part of two conference championships in women's basketball at Point Park.    

She also spent time as an assistant women's soccer coach at Mt Union and spent a season as a WBB volunteer assistant at California (PA).
