After a standout career on the Hill in which he set the all-time record for career appearances, Caiden Wood transitions to the coaching staff to aid in the development of the Griffin pitchers. Wood played his only season of professional baseball in 2023 in the MLB Draft League for the Frederick Keys. His playing career as a Griffin saw him pitch in 67 games with a 3.58 ERA. He went 20-5 with 9 saves. In 140 innings, Wood struck out 153 batters to just 43 walks. Â
He also posted spectacular numbers in the Coastal Plains League over two summers, tossing 26 innings for the Wilmington Sharks. Wood yielded just 2 earned runs in two seasons in Wilmington, with 30 strikeouts, 4 walks and 8 saves. Caiden earned his bachelor's degree from Seton Hill in May 2023 in history education
