Anna Lauterbach joins the Griffin coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant this season after a very successful playing career at St. Joseph University in Philadelphia.
As a senior Anna set the Hawks single-season mark for saves (tied the career mark), and finished second in the Nation among all Division I pitchers.
In 2016 Anna led a Hawks staff that finished second in the Atlantic 10 and 27th nationally in ERA (2.34) in a number of categories including saves, appearances, games finished and games in relief. In addition she had the lowest ERA, Conference ERA, batting average against, hits allowed, earned runs and total runs allowed, and did not give up a home run the entire season.
In addition Anna led the Atlantic 10 Conference in saves, games in relief, games finished and least home runs given up. She was 2nd in least runs allowed and in total earned runs allowed, 4th in ERA and 5th in appearance. Anna also was credited with two wins at the Atlantic 10 Championships in her career.
Academically, Anna graduate with her degree in Elementary and Special Education. She was named to the Dean’s List, and the Athletic Directors Honor Roll.
A graduate of Baldwin High School in Pittsburgh Anna was a Four-year letter winner and three-year captain. Lauterbach was a three-time Pittsburgh Post-Gazette South All-Star Team and WPIAL All-Section Team honoree. She was named to the All-Pennsylvania team and Player of the Week numerous times by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, WTAE TV, ESPN Radio 1250 and ESPN Rise Magazine. As a senior, led her team in wins (12), strikeouts (142) and ERA (0.61), Anna batted .491 with eight home runs and a .875 slugging percentage in 2012. She was named to the 2012 Adidas Futures Team and North American Select CUP Team. She was also a member of the Steel City Cyclones travel team,where in 2012 she finished with a 13-1 record 12 saves and a 0.93 ERA. Lauterbach also lettered in basketball, and was named to the 2012 Roundball Classic All-Star Team.
