Alyssa Finelli returns to the Seton Hill coaching staff for her second season in 2018.
In her first season with Seton Hill, the Griffins had their most successful season as a member of the NCAA. The team finished with twelve wins and advanced to the PSAC Tournament for the first time in school history. The squad was also 10-0-0 on their home pitch, the only team in the league to be unbeaten and untied at home. The team also excelled off the field as they were named the Westmoreland YWCA's Women's Sports Team of the Year and PSAC Top Team GPA Award winner. Â
Before Seton Hill, Finelli spent one season at Arcadia University as assistant coach. In her one season, she helped lead the Knights to a 17-4 record and the program's first NCAA Tournament berth since 2005.
The past two summers she played for the Lehigh Valley Tempest in the Women's Premier Soccer League.
Finelli moved to Arcadia from Moravian Academy High School in Bethlehem, Pa., where she was the assistant girls’ varsity coach and head girls' junior varsity soccer coach for the fall 2015 season.
Finelli was a four-year letter winner and three-year starter for the NCAA Division I Lafayette College women's soccer team. She made appearances in all but six games throughout her career as an attacker. During her four years, Finelli was a three-year member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and received the Lafayette Alumni of the Lehigh Valley Outstanding Athlete Award her senior year. She also earned multiple Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week Awards.
The Easton, Pa. native attended Easton Area High School, where she was a two-time Express-Times Player of the Year (2009, 2011) and three-time conference all-star selection. As a captain her senior year, she was named First-Team All-State. She finished her career as Easton’s all-time leader in goals, assists and points before being inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame the year after graduation.
Finelli graduated from Lafayette College with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology.
