Billy Bowlen joins the Seton Hill wrestling staff for his first season in 2020-21 as a student assistant.
Bowlen is no stranger to the Seton Hill wrestling program as he was a four year member of the squad, finishing competition in 2019-20.
For the Griffins, Billy was a three time NCAA National Qualifier. He made two trips to nationals at 184 pounds and made his final trip to nationals at 197 pounds in 2019-20.
Over his four year career, Bowlen finished with 66 career wins. He earned third team All PSAC honors following his final season. He had two top five finishes at the PSAC Championships including a second place finish in 2018-19. Billy won 14 matches by fall, nine by tech fall and eight by major decision.
In the classroom, Bowlen also excelled. He was named to the NWCA All Academic Team three times.
Prior to Seton Hill, Bowlen was a two time state qualifier while wrestling for Jefferson Morgan HS. He also won three section championships, two WPIAL championships and two regional runner up finishes.
