Coach Over

Bobby Over

Bobby Over will take over the role of head coach for the Seton Hill cross country and track and field coaching programs in his fifth season at Seton Hill during the 2021-22 school year.  Over spent the previous three seasons as an assistant for both programs. Prior to joining the Seton Hill staff, Over was an assistant coach at John Carroll University for two seasons.  As an athlete at Allegheny College, Bobby was an NCAA All American in Cross Country and Track and Field.

Over made an immediate impact on the Griffin cross country and track and field programs in his first season.  The women's cross country team earned its first ever trip to the NCAA Division II National Championships after a third place finish at the Atlantic Regional.  The track and field program produced two All Americans, five PSAC Champions and twenty new school records.

In his second season, the Griffin cross country program had one All Region performer and two All PSAC performers.  On the track, the team had four national qualifiers, two All Americans and seven PSAC Champions.

In 2019, the cross country program sent one runner to nationals and had three All Region performers.  Both teams had their highest finishes at the PSAC Championships and two runners were named All PSAC.  The track program had two national qualifiers and four PSAC Champions.  The Griffins set fourteen new school records on the track last season.

Last season the Griffins had successes on both the cross country and track side.  The women's cross country team had four All PSAC performers as they finished third at the PSAC Championships.  The men's team had two All PSAC performers as they had their highest ever placement at the PSAC Championships with a sixth place finish.  The year was capped with two NCAA Division II National Championships on the track at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

While at John Carroll, Over was their recruiting coordinator and produced workouts for over 35 athletes in cross country and track and field.  Bobby also was Meet Director for the 2014 Ohio Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships.  The 2015 coaching staff was named the Cross Country Staff of the Year for the OAC.  He coaches three athletes to national qualifying times in cross country in 2014.  Bobby coached eight school record holders in the 800 meter and longer races and had 23 All OAC preformances in those events.

As an athlete at Allegheny, Over was a cross country All American in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and a track and field All American in 2012, 2013 and 2014.  He was selected to the North Coast Athletic Conference All Decade team for Cross Country and Indoor Track and Field.  Bobby was the Mideast Cross Country Regional Runner of the Year three times and NCAC Cross Country Runner of the Year twice.  He was named the league's Distance MVP in Indoor and Outdoor and was a three year captain in cross country and track and field.

Over graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts in History with minors in Econimics and Spanish from Allegheny and then earned his Masters of Arts in Nonprofit Administration from John Carroll.Â
