Countdown

Julie Kaufman

Julie Kaufman returns for her third season as an assistant on the Seton Hill University women’s basketball coaching staff in 2015-16.

A season ago she helped the Griffins rise to fifth place in the PSAC West after finishing tied for sixth in 2013-14. In addition, Kaufman helped guide Seton Hill to a 70-68 victory at Mercyhurst University on January 21, 2015, as head coach Mark Katarski missed the game due to illness.

In her first season on the bench, primarily working with post players, Kaufman helped senior Katie Gattuso earn Second Team All-PSAC West, as well as Second Team ECAC All-Star honors.

Prior to Seton Hill, Kaufman was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Shepherd University for two seasons. Before joining the Shepherd staff, she served as a graduate assistant at Hood College from 2008-11. In addition, she was an assistant Girls Basketball Coach at both Southern Guilford High School (NC), and Damascus High School (MD).

Kaufman was a four-year player at Catawba College where the team won a pair of conference championships and earned two NCAA Division II regional appearances.  She earned her Bachelor's degree in physical education from Catawba College in 2005 and Master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Hood College in 2011.

She is single and resides in South Greensburg.
