Roosevelt Williams

Roosevelt Williams brings professional playing and coaching experience to the Seton Hill coaching staff.  Williams will be the team's defensive coordinator and coach the corner backs.  Williams comes to Seton Hill from Southwest Baptist University where he was the defensive backs coach.

Williams will be reunited on the hill with head coach Isaac Collins who Williams worked with at Widener during the 2010-12 seasons.  At Southwest Baptist University Williams had the best secondary unit in the MIAA conference naming both of his cornerbacks to the MIAA all-conference team.

While at Widener, Williams was the defensive backs coach, special teams coordinator and the pro liaison in which Williams produce numerous of All American and All Conference defensive backs, kick and punt returners.  

During 2011, Williams was an assistant defensive backs/special teams coaching intern with the San Diego Chargers. With the Chargers Williams worked alongside Defensive back/Assistant Head Coach Steve Wilks, who is considered one of the great NFL coaching minds when crafting defensive backs.  Before moving to Widener, Williams was a defensive backs coach, co-defensive coordinator and returners coach at Clark Atlanta University.

Roosevelt played collegiately at Tuskegee University after spending the previous two years at Savannah State University. Williams was an All American and named first team All-conference all of his four seasons.   Williams was part of the 1998 Savannah State defense which was ranked #1 in the nation and the 2000 Tuskegee University BSN Black College National Champions. Williams was then drafted by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft.  Williams played for the Bears and earned All-Rookie honors.  Williams then played for the Cleveland Browns under current Indianapolis Head Coach Chuck Pagano as Williams defensive backs coach.  Roosevelt finished his professional playing days with the New York Jets in 2005. 

Williams was also one of 60 applicants nationwide selected to attend 2012 NCAA-NFL Football Coaching Academy in Dallas, TX.

Williams is a member of the National Football League Players Association, Black Coaches Association, American Football Coaches Association and Fellowship for Christian Athletes.

Williams will be residing in Greensburg.  He has a wife of 10 yrs named Breeona and two sons, Deontai who is a 18 years old 4 star University of Florida commit as a 11th grader in the state of Florida and Bailey, who is 2 year old.
