Coach Joe Sarver joins Seton Hill’s Track and Field and Cross Country team for his fifth season. He has worked and coached within the running world for the past 38 years. Coach Sarver’s background stems back from his high school coach, Bob Annasenz, a three time hall of famer, who has rounded his experience and coaching style. He attended West Liberty State College, graduating with a B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in Biology. He was all conference 7 times, while running in 5 national championships. To this day, he still holds the 10km record for the WVIAC, and had the fastest time in the nation for the marathon of 2:20:30. He coached for the Marietta YMCA, and moved onto athletes that have run in national, Olympic trials, and World Game races. Joe has additionally worked as an elite coordinator for the Pittsburgh marathon and Great Race, and is the long distance coordinator for USATF Three Rivers men, women, and masters. Coach Sarver continued his education at Carnegie Mellon with a M.S. in Polymer Science.
In 2012 Coach Sarver was inducted as part of the fourth class into the Pittsburgh Running Hall of Fame.
