Biography

Before SHU:
Balega was a first team All Conference linebacker during his senior season at Derry.  During his junior and senior year he was awarded the three sport varsity award.  In 2013, Troy earned the Sgt. Earl Fillmore Jr. Memorial Football Award as the team's best defensive player.  He was named an all conference fullback during his sophomore season.  On the basketball court, Balega was named the Die Hard Award winner during his junior season.  He is a member of the Spanish National Honor Society and was named a 2014 National Society of High School Scholar.
