Coach Newton

Mike Newton

Mike Newton returns for his third season on the Seton Hill staff as the Wide Receivers Coach and Special Teams Coordinator.  Prior to arriving at Seton Hill, Newton worked as offensive coordinator for the Munich Cowboys in Munich, Germany. 

Last season, Newton coached WR Michael Elardo to an All PSAC West Team selection.

In 2016, Newton coached All PSAC West honoree Ardell Brown who set a new Seton Hill single season receiving yards record. 

Prior to the year in Germany, Newton spent five seasons at Juniata College where he spent his final two seasons as offensive coordinator.  He spent his first three seasons as wide receivers coach. In 2013 & 2014 helped lead Juniata College to its most successful two seasons offensively in the history of the school. Breaking school & conference records along with averaging over 420 yards per game and just less than 30 points per game. Coached two All-Conference Players at two positions Quarterback and Wide Receiver in both 2013 & 2014 along with 2014 Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Year and Third Team All-American.

Newton spent one season at the Citadel as Defensive Quality Control Coach and Graduate Assistant.

Mike played one season at Newberry before transferring to South Carolina for his final three seasons where he earned two letters in his final two seasons.

Newton graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelors degree in Sport and Entertainment Management.
