Chris Haupt returns for his fifth season on the Seton Hill football staff as the Quarterback Coach and pass game coordinator after graduating from Widener University in the class of 2013.

The Griffins continued to rank highly in passing in the NCAA and PSAC in 2017.  SHU was third in the PSAC and 18th in the country in passing offense.  QB Christian Strong completed his career and now holds all four SHU career passing records (yards, attempts, completions and touchdowns).

Haupt helped the Griffin passing game to reach new heights in the 2016 season.  They led Division II in passing offense at 373.2 yards per game.  The total offense was sixth in Division II and first in the PSAC.  QB Christian Strong set new Seton Hill single season records in passing attempts, completions, passing yards and touchdown passes.

Coach Haupt led the Griffins to the number three passing offense in the PSAC in 2015, finishing with a league leading 301.5 passing yards per game.  Griffin QB Christian Strong had the third most passing yards in a season in the history of the Seton Hill football program and posted two of the top three all time passing games.   In the previous season, the Griffins led the PSAC in passing yards per game.

While at Widener University, Haupt was a four-year starter and two-year captain as the Quarterback of The Pride, leading the squad to an ECAC Bowl Game victory in 2011. His career culminated in a Middle Atlantic Conference Championship in which The Pride went undefeated in conference play. In 2012 Widener’s season ended in a trip to the NCAA “Final 8” .

The two time All-American selection was a 2011 Gagliardi Trophy finalist, being the lone junior on the list.  Haupt finished his career at Widener with over 15 school passing records including season and career completions, yards and touchdowns.
