Methods of Giving
In considering a gift to the Griffin Athletic Association, you may choose from among the various giving opportunities the University has to offer.
CASH, CHECK & CREDIT CARD CONTRIBUTIONS
Cash contributions may be made for restricted use by the Department of Athletics or for the support of a specific sport of your designation.
MATCHING GIFTS
More than 10,000 companies participate in a matching gift program, which allows you the opportunity to double or even triple your contribution to the Griffin Athletic Association. If your company is a participant, please enclose the company’s matching gift form along with your gift. You will receive credit for the total contribution toward your membership level in the Association.
ENDOWED GIFTS
Endowed gifts provide funds for the benefit of the Seton Hill University athletics program. If you are interested in making a perpetual gift of this type, please contact the Office of Institutional Advancement at 724.552.4323 or ksmith@setonhill.edu.
PLANNED GIFTS
Planned gifts include supporting the Association with stocks, wills, bequests, insurance policies, or charitable remainder trusts. For more information, please contact the Office of Institutional Advancement at 724.552.4323 or ksmith@setonhill.edu.
GIFTS-IN-KIND
Gifts-in-kind are any goods or services the Athletic Department can use during the course of the year that would normally be purchased. Examples include athletic equipment, accumulated air miles, sports paraphernalia and other items used for the auction at our annual Doug Wood Golf Classic.

Tax Benefits
Gifts to the Griffin Athletic Association are considered gifts to Seton Hill University and are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of state and federal laws.
While gifts are tax-deductible, the IRS requires you to reduce the deductibility of your gift by the fair market value of any benefits you receive from your membership in the Griffin Athletic Association. You may also decline the benefits offered and maintain the full-deductibility of your gift.
For IRS purposes, the fair market value of the benefits received is as follows:
