The Griffin cross country teams opened their season at the 16th Annual Wolfpack Invite hosted by Westmoreland CCC on Friday afternoon.  

Both the women's and men's team earned team titles in the event.  The women finished with a team score of 27, six points better than second place Potomac State.  The men's team finished with 32 points, one point better than second place Potomac State.

A pair of freshmen went 1-2 for the Griffins to earn the top two individual spots.  Sophie Kanownik was first in a time of 21:10.7 while Alexis Schular was second in a time of 22:12.6.  Marissa Manko was third in a time of 22:12.6.  Katelyn Stravinsky was sixth overall in a time of 22:42.  Allison O'Brien was 17th overall to round out the top five for the Griffins.  

Kamsi Obuekwe finished second overall in a time of 17:47.7.  Robert Kennedy was fifth overall in a time of 18:45.2.  Ciaran McGeehan was seventh in a time of 19:q4.5.  Braego Cieslukowski was eighth in 19:15.5.  Drew Raulli was tenth to close out the Griffin top five.  

The team will head to the Bethany Invitational next Saturday afternoon.
