Griffins Earn PSAC West Victory over IUP

The Griffins hosted Indiana (PA) on Wednesday afternoon in PSAC West action.

Seton Hill got a goal in the second half on a free kick for the 1-0 victory over the Crimson Hawks.  SHU is now 1-2 on the season and 1-1 in PSAC West play.  

Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first half with the Crimson Hawks owning a 5-4 lead in shots in the half.

The Griffins got on the scoreboard in the 64th minute on a free kick.  Kilee Coatney touched the ball to Maddie Teakle who fired a shot into the upper left corner of the net.  

IUP held a 9-8 lead in shots in the contest.  The Griffins had a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.  

Coatney led the Griffins with 2 shots.  Rhys Caplinger made five saves in the shutout win.  

SHU will travel to Clarion on Saturday fpr another PSAC West contest.
