Aubrey Nets Hat Trick in Win at WV Wesleyan

The Griffins traveled to Buckhannon, WV for a non conference matchup with WV Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon.

Senior James Aubrey scored a hat trick as the Griffins defeated the Bobcats 4-0.  SHU is now 2-2-1 overall.  

Aubrey scored three goals in less than 20 minutes of action to open the contest,  He scored his first goal in the fifth minute of the contest.  James added his second in the 12th minute.  Mikkel Steenstrup and Rafael Santos assisted on the goal. Aubrey scored his third of the game with 21:12 left in the half.  Santos assisted on the third goal.  

About 15 minutes into the second half, Santos scored to extend the Griffins lead to 4-0.  Christofer Duran-Escobar assisted on the goal. The game went into a lightning delay in the 70th minutes before the Griffins were able to play the final 20 minutes and secure the win.  

Aubrey led with 4 shots on goal.  Santos added three.   Jannik Reiss made 4 saves in the shutout win.  

The Griffins will host Concord on Wednesday afternoon at 2 PM.
