The Griffins played their home opener on Sunday afternoon as they hosted Shepherd in a PSAC Crossover matchup.
Shepherd scored the opening goal and the Griffins rallied to tie the contest as the game ended in a 1-1 tie. SHU is now 1-0-1 on the season.
Neither team was able to score in the first half of the contest. SHU held a 5-4 advantage in shots in the half.
Six minutes into the second half, the Rams took a 1-0 lead on a goal off a corner kick. Just over seven minutes later, the Griffins tied the game at one when
Felix Knorn scored off a corner kick from
Rafael Santos.
Knorn, Santos and
Ben Conti each had two shots on goal for the Griffins.
Jannik Reiss made three saves in the win.
SHU will travel to the University of District Columbia on Wednesday afternoon.
