SETON HILL ANNOUNCES 2026 HALL OF FAME CLASS

The Seton Hill University Athletic Department has announced the two individuals and one team who will make up the fifteenth class in the Seton Hill University Athletic Hall of Fame.

The 2026 Seton Hill Hall of Fame Class includes Viktoria Farian '21 (Volleyball), Damon Greenwald '20 & '21 (Wrestling) and the 2006 Baseball Team.  

These greats will be officially inducted at the 2026 Seton Hill Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner, which will take place on Friday, October 2nd. The inductees will also be introduced during the Griffins' Homecoming football game against California (PA) on Saturday, October 3rd at 4 p.m. 

VIKTORIA FARIAN '21

Viktoria Farian will go down as one of the best to ever wear a volleyball uniform for the Griffins volleyball program.  

Farian led the Griffins to their one and only PSAC Championship and NCAA Atlantic Regional Final in 2018.  

Farian was the PSAC West Athlete of the Year in 2018 and was a three time All PSAC West selection in her three seasons of competition.  She was a two time AVCA All American and one time D2CCA All American.  Viktoria was a two time AVCA and D2CCA All Region selection.  

Over her career, Farian finished with 1,206 kills, 1,289 digs, 129 blocks and 123 aces.  Viktoria hit over .219 in her career.  

Farian graduated from Seton Hill with a biology major and a minor in Psychology.  Viktoria attended medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, FL and graduated medical school in 2025. She is currently a 2nd year resident physician in Emergency Medicine at Florida Atlantic University and living in Delray Beach, FL.


DAMON GREENWALD '21

Damon Greenwald was one of the best ever to step onto the mat for the Seton Hill wrestling program.  

Greenwald excelled on the mat and in the classroom for the Griffins.  

Greenwald was a CoSIDA second team Academic All American in 2021.  In addition he earned multiple NWCA All Academic Awards and CoSIDA Academic All District awards.  Damon was a two time NCAA National Qualifier, earning All American honors with an 8th place finish in 2019.  He won a Super Regional Championship as a sophomore.  

Over his career, Greenwald won 65 career matches with 16 wins by fall in just three seasons of competition.  

Greenwald graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and added an MBA in Healthcare Administration from Seton Hill.  After Seton Hill, he attended the WVU School of Pharmacy and graduated with his PharmD in 2025. After graduation,
he completed a fellowship program at RareMed Solutions this past July. Damon is now working as an Implementation Lead at RareMed Solutions.  Greenwald resides in Lower Burrell with his wife and three cats.  


2006 BASEBALL TEAM

The Seton Hill baseball program has become a fixture in the postseason and that run began with the 2006 baseball team and their trip to the NAIA World Series in 2006 in just their third season of competition. 

The team finished the season with a 45-20 record.  The 45 victories are the third most in program history. 

Seton Hill earned their first AMC North Division title with a sweep of Geneva, finishing conference play with a 19-5 record.  SHU then defeated cross town rival St Vincent in the best of three AMC Qualifying series to earn a spot in the four team NAIA Region IX Tournament, hosted at Seton Hill.  The Griffins defeated Mt Vernon 9-6 to open the regional before defeating Malone 14-1 to advance to the regional title game.  SHU then defeated Mt Vernon 2-1 on a game winning solo homer from Matt Musiak in the top of the ninth inning to earn the regional title.  Seton Hill advanced to Lewiston, Idaho and the NAIA World Series with a two game sweep of Fisher College in the NAIA East Coast Super Regional.

Seton Hill dropped a 5-4 decision to Concordia in the opening game of the World Series before being eliminated from the tournament with a loss to Auburn Montgomery. 

Head coach Marc Marizzaldi was named the NAIA Regional Coach of the Year.  Brandon Whitfield was a second team NAIA All American, with Rick Austin and Mike McCarthy earning NAIA All American honors as honorable mentions.  Whitfield, McCarthy and Austin were named to the NAIA Region IX Team.  Whitfield, McCarthy, Austin, Jerry Harness and Steve Long were AMC North First Team selections.  Steve Gumpf, Tyler Anderson, Eric Nese, Matt Nelson and John Bachman were AMC North Second Team selections.
