After another successful season on the field in 2026, the postseason awards continue to fly in for the Seton Hill baseball program. On Monday afternoon, the team picked up honors from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).
The Griffins won one of the three major awards from the D2CCA for the Atlantic Region and also added three first team and two second team All Region selections.
Sophomore third baseman
Brady McGuire was named the D2CCA Atlantic Regional Player of the Year. McGuire was also a first team selection. Senior outfielder
Jack Whalen and sophomore starter
Sean Williams were also first team selections. Junior shortstop
Owen Henne and junior starter
Mark Wechtenhiser were second team selections. Henne was a first team selection last season. Whalen was a second team selection as a freshman.
McGuire leads the PSAC and the Griffins with a .443 average. He also led the Griffins with 54 RBI which was second in the PSAC. Brady added 48 runs scored, 8 doubles, a triple, 6 homers and 29 stolen bases in just 45 games played. Whalen led the Griffins in many offensive categories. He led SHU with 72 hits, 65 runs scored, 12 doubles, 3 triples and 44 stolen bases. Jack led the PSAC in runs scored and stolen bases. He added 4 homers and 33 RBI. Williams was 10-2 on the season with a 3.29 ERA. He has worked 65.2 innings while allowing 55 hits and opponents to hit just .231 off him. Sean has 52 strikeouts and threw the second no hitter in Seton Hill history this season,
Henne was second on the Griffins with a .401 average. He added 10 doubles, a triple, 5 homers and 39 RBI. He fielded at a .962 clip at shortstop. Wechtenhiser is 8-2 on the season with a 3.68 ERA. He has worked 58.2 innings and allowed 37 hits with opponents hitting just .181 off him. Mark has 65 strikeouts on the season.
