Women's Lacrosse Falls at #8 Slippery Rock

Seton Hill continued PSAC West play as they traveled to #8 Slippery Rock in a conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon.  

The Rock jumped out to a 9-1 lead over the Griffins on a miserable afternoon with downpours and defeated the Griffins by an 10-5 score.  SHU falls to 6-4 overall and 3-1 in the PSAC while the Rock improves to 11-0 and 4-0 in the west.  

Brooklyn Miller scored on a free position shot with just under 10 minutes to play in the first half to tie the contest at one.  The Rock scored the final three goals of the first quarter to take a 4-1 lead over the Griffins.  

Slippery Rock scored the only three goals of the second quarter as they built a 7-1 lead at the halftime break.  The Rock scored the first two goals of the third quarter as they built a 9-1 lead with 12:24 to play in the third quarter.  SHU scored the final two goals of the quarter in the final three minutes.  Sydney Marusko scored with 3:04 left and Ruby DePalma scored on a free position shot with less than 30 seconds left to trim the lead to 9-3.  

Marusko scored less than two minutes into the fourth quarter as the Griffins trimmed the Rock lead to five.  Elena Traficante scored to trim the lead to 10-5 with 5:44 to play.  

Marusko led the Griffins with two goals.  Katelyn Patts made 15 saves in the contest.  

The Griffins will host Gannon on Saturday in another PSAC West contest.
