For the second straight season, the Seton Hill women's basketball program will appear in the NCAA Tournament. The Griffins earned an at large bid in this year's tournament. SHU earned the fourth seed and will face fifth seed Fayetteville State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday. The Griffins enter the regional with a 21-8 overall record. The Broncos were CIAA runner up with an overall record of 21-5.
Top seeded Indiana (PA) will host the eight team regional at the KCAC on the IUP campus.
The winner of the Seton Hill/Fayetteville matchup will meet the winner of the top seed IUP (26-3)) against eight seed Charleston (WV) (21-10) in the Atlantic Regional Semifinal on Saturday. Charleston won the MEC Championship.
The other first round matchups include second seed Gannon (28-4) taking on seventh seed Edinboro (19-13). Third seed and CIAA Champion Winston Salem State (26-3) will take on sixth seed Glenville State (24-6) in the other quarterfinal.
The Atlantic Regional final will be played on Monday, March 16th.
The eight regional winners will advance to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh from March 24-28.
