On Sunday March 29th, 2026, individual members of Seton Hill's Women's Equestrian team competed at the zone two, region five championship hosted at Storm Harbour Equestrian center.
Seton Hill had four riders qualify for zones. Though there were some challenges throughout the day, all riders put up good performances. Junior
Cassidy Kennedy dominated in her limit flat class placing first in a field of seven qualified riders. Freshman
Auggie Ingwalson also qualified placing second in open flat in addition to her automatic qualification in open fences which she received for being one of only two riders in the region to surpass the point threshold. Ingwalson was also honored as the region's reserve champion in the cacchione cup, an award given to the open rider with the most cumulative points both on the flat and over fences.
In addition to regional competition, Seton Hill was officially honored as the sole champion of zone two, region five of the IHSA. This is the third year in a row that the equestrian team has won their region. All members of the team have ridden extremely well so far this season and are incredibly proud to be moving onto the zone championships next weekend. The team heads to zones hosted at Lehman Farms in Pittsford, NY on April 4th, 2026 where they will compete for a spot at the national finals.
