Seton Hill began PSAC West play as they hosted Indiana (PA) in a conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
SHU dominated the even quarters as they outscored the Crimson Hawks 10-2 in the second and fourth quarters in a 15-11 victory. SHU is now 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the west.
The teams exchanged the first six goals of the contest with the game being tied at three with 7:01 to play in the quarter.
Mila Udovicic scored all three goals for the Griffins.
Ruby DePalma gave the Griffins their first lead at 4-3 with a goal with 6:09 left. IUP scored the final two goals of the quarter as they took a 5-4 lead.
SHU scored the first five goals of the second quarter to take a 9-5 lead with 9:51 left in the half.
Lani Filoon opened the scoring less than 30 seconds in.
Sydney Marusko scored a pair in less than a minute and
Carley O'Mara and Elana Traficante scored to put the Griffins in front. IUP trimmed the lead to 9-6 with a goal with 6:14 to play but Marusko scored with 4:55 left to give SHU a 10-6 halftime lead.
IUP scored the first three of the third quarter as they trailed 10-9 with 7:35 to play. DePalma scored with 6:43 left in the quarter to put SHU in front 11-9. IUP closed out the scoring in the third and trailed 11-10.
DePalma and Marusko scored less than a minute a part as the Griffins led 13-10 with 9:18 left. IUP scored with 3:14 to play but Marusko scored two more to close out the win for the Griffins.
Marusko paced the offense with six goals. Udovicic added three goals and three assists. DePalma added three goals and two assists.
The Griffins will host Lock Haven on Wednesday in another PSAC West contest.
