Set to return to the field in just under two weeks, the Griffin women's lacrosse team has been selected second in the PSAC West according to the PSAC Women's Lacrosse Coaches Preseason Poll. The poll was released by the league office on Thursday afternoon and was voted on by the head lacrosse coaches in the league.
Slippery Rock earned five of the six first place votes and topped the PSAC West Preseason Poll. Following the Griffins, who earned one first place vote, was Lock Haven in third. IUPk, Gannon and Edinboro round out the western division poll.
Nationally ranked West Chester earned six of first place votes to top the PSAC East Preseason Poll. East Stroudsburg was second and earned the other first place votes. Kutztown and Millersville round out the top four. Shippensburg, Bloomsburg and Shepherd close out the poll.
The Griffins are scheduled to open their season on February 14th when they travel to East Stroudsburg. The PSAC West opener is scheduled for Saturday, March 21st at home vs IUP.
