Seton Hill continued PSAC West play with a home match with Pitt Johnstown in Greensburg on Friday evening.
The Griffins split the first four sets of the match and then took the fifth and deciding set for a 3-2 win over the Mountain Cats. SHU is now 8-6 overall and 1-3 in the PSAC West.
The Griffins took the first set by the score of 25-20. UPJ responded with a 25-21 second set win to tie the match at one.
Seton Hill took a 2-1 lead in the match with a 25-21 win in the third set. Pitt Johnstown sent the match to a fifth set with a 25-15 win in the fourth set. In the fifth set, the Mountain Cats jumped out to an 11-4 lead. The Griffins answered back with seven straight points to tie the set at 11.
Emma Meurer had three kills in the run. A kill from
Maddie Stout and three straight kills from
Catie Flohr gave the Griffins a 15-13 fifth set win.
Flohr led the Griffins with 22 kills. Stout added 14 and Meurer finished with 13.
Mallory Meinen paced SHU with 51 assists.
Kendyl Wagner had 23 digs to lead SHU. Meinen added 11 digs.
SHU will travel to CalU in another PSAC West contest on Saturday afternoon.
